This is a blockbuster Shiraz from an area in Southeastern Australia that is known more for whites such as chardonnay and sauvignon blanc due to its cooler climate. But if reds deliver this quality juice from this area, it’s a place I want to know more about — and soon. Hugely aromatic, the wine show beautiful notes of ripe raspberry, chocolate and cream giving it nice berry mocha notes and at this young age perhaps just a bit hot. On the palate it sports nice black cherry, raspberry with a slight background bramble just enough to give this wine enticing complexity. Mild acidity, mellow tannins and a sweet finish the shows classic American Oak sweetness and last for 30 seconds or more. I’ve paid more for wines of less caliber, so the best part of this wine is its price. About $20. If your local wine shop has any, grab it. This is good juice. 90 points.
